Rotorua’s world-class guided experience and cultural performance.This exhilarating combo extends out from our Te Rā Guided Experience by offering a leading cultural performance in our beautifully carved meeting house, Te Aronui a Rua. It will include a pōhiri (traditional Māori welcome), waiata (song), mōteatea (traditional chant), poi and haka.

Subject to availability and confirmation.Come face to face with the biggest, naturally active geyser in the Southern Hemisphere Pōhutu Geyser, and enjoy the up-close experience with the New Zealand Kiwi, in our brand-new Kiwi Conservation Centre. Be mesmerized by exploding mud pools all throughout the valley and gaze at beautifully crafted Māori-made artwork and sculptures visible throughout Te Puia.
Watch carvers and weavers demonstrate their skills at the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, and hear our guides share stories passed down from their ancestors. Our wānanga (school) is a lighthouse for indigenous culture, worldwide. We are honoured to open the doors to our wānanga and show you the work of internationally recognised artists.

An evening of culture, kai and connection!Te Pō Combo begins at 4pm with our fully guided experiences to enrich your visit to our historical geothermal valley. Each guide adds a personal touch to inspire and help visitors truly connect with the Te Puia experience.
Explore our amazing landscape of native bush, geysers, and mud pools, and feel the natural power of Pōhutu Geyser– the largest geyser in the Southern Hemisphere! Get up close and personal with one of our national treasures in our brand-new Kiwi Conservation Centre. Visit the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute and Āhua Gallery.
After working up an appetite enjoy a mouth-watering buffet at our world famous Pātaka Kai Restaurant & Bar, followed by an exhilarating cultural performance and then if you want more, head back down into the geothermal wonderland featuring the world famous Pōhutu Geyser.
This experience is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes long and suitable for all ages.Must be booked in advance.
When darkness falls the true love story of Rotorua’s geothermal wonderland comes to life.
Until now, the magic hidden within Te Puia has remained a secret that only Mother Nature has truly been exposed to. For the first time, the geothermal valley is revealed under night skies, providing a multi-sensory experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.
Meet with your kaiārahi (guide) at the main entrance to Te Puia under our waharoa (gateway). After a brief kōrero (talk), you will be escorted to Te Heketanga-ā-Rangi, our superbly carved and architecturally designed Māori feature.
Geyser By Night begins at 7:45pm and concludes at approx. 10pm. Please allow 2 hours for this experience.
The Geyser By Night experience is only available Thursday - Sunday.PLEASE NOTE:
Walking shoes and a moderate-medium level of fitness are needed and can be subject to the weather. Recommended Ages: 8 years and older (must be able to do a late-night walk).
